I still really enjoy my Studio Projects T-3 with a GE (7032?) tube swap. Makes vocals really bigger than life...which is a problem in dense mixes...but excellent on sparser acoustic mixes. Sounds great on acoustic guitar too.

You know...I'd be really tempted myself to get a pair of the e100 mike if they were truly the new S series. I have the old e-100 mikes and love them on Acoustic guitar and percussion, but they are a medium sized diaprham electret mic where as the new ones (S model) are large diaphram true...

I think I would wouls first suspect something with the firewire connection. If you can put a cd player or another source into your mixer and playback system and it work fine that either the digital connection is problematic or ther is something electrical component wise funky in the interface...

Those are 2 different kits. I have like 4 kits and keep one in the booth and then a small practice kit out for band practice. I really enjoy the place. It isn't perfect but it isn't holding me back in anyway like my lack of talent is.(LOL)

I think what is happening is you are not exciting the kit quite as much so there is not a huge amount of reflected sound bouncing around being picked up by the mikes and not being exaggerated perhaps by an untreated room. I have also found playing a little less bombastic lowers the huge...

Audacity may actually be working, since it recorded, but another more popular program you might like is Reaper. There actually is a forum here on thei BBS for it.

I have had that happen occasionally,even using the exact same mic combination but with different sessions. I have some theories as to why it happens , but have never had the time to prove it out. But it is along the lines of your suggested mode of thought about frequency cancellation / boost...
