I believe sytek with the better op amps is what people rave about when they rave about sytek. They are fine pres though dif than the grace or the RNP. They are all dif flavors of clean, the RNP being the most aggressive and 'top end' sounding of the bunch. With compression anyway.

I use compression on everything at every stage. Going in, coming out, in my car, at shoprite, and on my roof BBQing with my friends. Several stages of small increments is better than all at once.

What a shame. They were definitely among the better plugs. Id rate them just below waves and timeworks. They definitely killed everything at their price level. The reverb, EQ and compression were probably the strongest though after picking up the UAD-1 plugs recently I havent really used much else.

Forget the rolands. They are so hyped on top and in the upper mids they make aiwa look flat. In that price range, check out the mackies or the tannoy 800s.

I dont know anyone who would call the C1 "plain sounding on vocals." I think its pretty hyped but tight sounding where the V67 is hyped but mushy by comparison.
