You have to do some patching.
Connect an output of the 002 to the input of the effector, and the output of the effector to an input of the 002.
Then you have to set the correct inputs and outputs in Pro Tools - The output of the track that you're effecting has to match the output that's...
I made up my snake today.
After playing around with a few different ways of wiring, it seemed that there was only one way that worked.
At the TRS end, I wired the tip to the ring.
Then the tip and sleeve from the TRS end to the tip and sleeve on the TS end.
Works perfectly. :D
I just downloaded that Eskimo Joe session.
For some reason, the second part was corrupt from the two places i tried downloading it from. Would you be able to try uploading it again? :)
The midi device that you are seeing is definately not your mic. It would be a midi input.
Have you tried reading the manual(s) and quick start guide(s)?
If your mixer has direct outs, you can connect them to the line inputs on your 003.
If your mixer has no direct outs, but has inserts, you can but Hosa Insert to Direct out cables, then use TS cables to plug into the line inputs on the 003.
You could also connect group outs, auxillary sends or...
Thanks guys.
I know about the "pushing the insert cable to the first click" thing, but doesn't doing that stops the signal going to the faders etc. on the desk? Either way, I'll be happier plugging my cables all the way in. ;)
From the diagrams and suggestions, i've figured that The tip...
Hi all.
I've just ordered a small mixer, and am planning on using the inserts as direct outs for recording. I checked prices, and it seems that buying 8 Hosa direct out cables and an 8 channel TS snake would cost a silly amount, so I've decided that I'll be better off making my own - They'd be...
I've had one of those days, playing around with my gear for too long, and have come up with what seems like a decent sound.
What do you guys think?
Too much reverb? :p
I've listened back on a few different speakers (No monitors yet. :( ), and on some it seems just right, and some it's a...
In Aus, you can't get much for that price.
I'd go for a second hand Mapex Venus, like the one you listed. They're pretty well constructed for the price and won't collapse on you.
It's in my bedroom. No treatment at all. :p
The room is quite large, with high ceilings. The floors are carpeted with fairly normal carpet. The drums are set-up facing away from a bay window. There are wooden venetian blinds on the window.
I'll get a diagram up if i can work how to draw a...
:p
I should've thought of that myself... :o
The heads I'm using are different and there's another splash to the left of the high-hats, but apart from that, it's the same.
The overheads are about 1' above my cymbals, which are about the same distance above my toms.
The main crash are Meinl Amun 16" Medium and Powerful crashes, which, in person, are very much like you described. I have some brighter crashes on the way.
Thanks. I play in a metal band, so...
Hi guys!
I finally got myself a Digi 002 recently, and have done a few drum recordings.
I'm using an Audix D6, SM57 and two Rode NT5s.
I think the outcome is decent, but am looking for others' opinions.
Be brutally honest, and overly critical, please. :D...
I'm waiting on an SM Pro headphone amp that I ordered.
It seemed to suit me the best out of the headphone amps I checked out.
4 inputs, 6 headphone outs.

I use a small bass drum muffling pillow. It's made by Protection Racket. It works really well.
It's a bit like the Evans one mentioned. It bounces off the head when you hit it, and falls back onto the head shortly after to dampen the sound.
I got an Audix D6 for Christmas yesterday, which is pretty damned awesome.
After playing around, I found that the best sound I got was with the mic mounted inside the drum, using a tom arm and a clamp hanging from the bass drum bracket. I used a reso without a hole.
However... That means that...
