    basic recording

Manning, I Missed This Post What I'm trying to do is record as many tracks as are necessary to make each song sound unique unto itself and that may require 8 tracks on some and maybe 16 on others. All of the software is capable of many more tracks than that. THEN we/I (a collaborative...

Thanks. No Travel Plans at this Time so the info I got from the music store guy is pretty bogus? that's a surprise. I may have to log that in my diary. well, thankyou. obviously an internal HD is going to be cheaper and not all THAT much trouble to install. 10 minutes of my valuable time...

Which software you use to make audio recording

Cool Edit Pro I like it because I'm used to it. I personally think it makes sense. Actually, the old version of CEP has more features than I'll ever use. I already own it. No further cash investment needed. It's simple. That's about it ;)

doesn't auto tune sort of defeat the purpose?

AutoTune? never heard of it. there's been 'vocal fixing' capabilities for a long time in PC recording. I think there's a time and place for everything. But I agree with you and seemingly everyone else. If ya can't sing, don't do it on a record. what is it? like a pitch shifter/bender...
