SIRDUFFY - If you could make a drawing of what your space looks like it would help a lot. Include ceiling height etc... Also, start reading here: http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html and look at what others have done here...

Rick - try not to over think it man! It's only rock and roll. :) I oscillate between being worried about early reflections (got a couple) and just saying f**k it ! Look at half the articles in Tape-Op and you see guys making great sounding records in big rectangular wharehouses with no acoustic...

Here's a pic of my deal (Uh I mean steal) of the year

Nice deal! I was just talking to a freind the other day about how Ebay (and the internet) has virtually ruined the possibility of finding deals like this any more. You used to be able to find stuff (not just audio gear...) all the time for cheap but now, everyone at least looks up the 'going...

Hey Garage - If isolation is not a problem then open it up. A combination of traps and panels should give you good results. Check John Sayers site: http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html for ideas on how to deal with rectangular rooms. Cheers Kevin.

    floating floors

Jonothon - If I remember right, you place is not part of a house but a separate building yes? In that case, if the isolation of the other rooms is good, the you may not need to float the control room. Have you tried this yet? I wonder about the flex of a ripped 2x4... Glue away man! I...
