When ur tracking ANYTHING it doesn't matter how you pan it because after you finish tracking it, u can adjust the pan to whatever u want. if your asking how to pan when your mixing down or bouncing tracks thats something else... i usually put a lead in the center and one guitar in the left and...

definately get the fostex.... there are some draw back on it though... the effects SUCK beyond belief.... the amp modeling couldnt be much worse.... but thing is its a digital 8 tracker for under 300, and the sound quality isn't bad... for a starter its perfect. one more thing.... if ur planning...
