    Noiseless Pickups

As others have said. Don't worry about it and turn down your guitar between songs. That said, I have a 2017 Tele with N4s - super, super quiet.

Need some advice on buying an all round microphone.

Using a single cardioid pattern mic for recording acoustic guitar and singing at the same time, as per your post, is a difficult thing. 2 mics, or a mic with a figure 8 pattern (which I believe the NT2A has) will get you better results. You should be able to just about pick up the NT2A AND an...

Original Song: Well meant ain't well done, Southern Rock-ish kinda thang...

I agree with andrush on the drums - they're just a bit simplistic for mine - a real drummer would have some variation in cymbals instead of that one same hit all the time - a grace note here and there would swing it a bit more. Your accent sounds "Germanic" for want of a better word - some sort...

    Is It Too Soon?

Thanks jimi - Tele one side and Les Paul on the other, actually.;) Thanks for the listen sparky No worries jimmy - I'm honoured you thought it worth doing - I'll have a proper listen tonight on my proper system - only my craptop speakers where I've been since the weekend.:D

    Bad Dreams II

I must be listening to the second version sans limiter. You pack a lot into under 3 minutes. Very interesting. I'm only on my laptop at the moment so can't really give you mix feedback - I think the vocals sound OK and I'd advise you to ignore VHS's new found obsession with The Locust! :laughings:

Thanks Bulls. Yeah, I'm getting much closer to a final mix much more quickly these days... ;)

    Is It Too Soon?

Thanks Jimmy - I'm pretty close with this one, I think, although some words of the vocal are annoying me, but I may have to live with that, unless I want to do it all again in a different "voice"...

    Is It Too Soon?

Thanks Robus - I'll check the panning - I've started going away from hard left and right but it's not far off it - I'm not anywhere near my studio for the next 24 hours so don't recall exactly what I did - if it's not, I'll push them wider and see what happens, but I don't think there's any...

    Is It Too Soon?

As soon as I worked out the music the phrase "Is it too soon..." came into my head as a starter for the lyrics, sung to exactly that meter. It was never going to be sung any other way and I actually think it'd sound a bit dicky to match the playing exactly - I mean you could carry that rhythm...

    Are You Listening?

Thanks jimi - I'm happy with the drum level on this one. That'd make an interesting thread for discussion somewhere else, because people's preferences are so varied on drum level.

    Are You Listening?

By cymbal you mean crash, right? There are cymbals going on everywhere. There's one crash on the 1 before "can you..." and two, two bars later, the first on the 1, before "are you..." and the second of those two crashes does not have a kick underneath it first time through. Intentionally. The...

    Are You Listening?

Thanks Jimmy - I always appreciate your ears and viewpoint! I've done a few more tweaks along the lines you pointed out. I seem to have gone from overdoing reverb on vocals to underdoing it, these days. Who'd a thought?

    Are You Listening?

Hi andrush - the new equipment was a Telecaster - I just found myself playing a completely different way - simpler, more direct. New guitars will do that to you. It's why we should all buy them all the time... ;) I'm afraid I have no idea what you're referring to a 1:08 - I can hear anything...

    Are You Listening?

Thanks Timbo - I'm going to do final tweaks on the weekend - I listened to it again yesterday via my phone as I was walking to work and I agree on the backing vocals, at least! :D
