    Reverb Unit

i personally think the tc would be your best bet as a first reverb processor. cos it's simple sound great. I personally hated the mpx 100 and the midiverb doesn't sound as good as a tc or lexicon unit but it's still a nice machine if you allready have a nice reverb. With the midiverb you'll have...

    Avlex/Superlux mics?....thoughts,..reviews?

The red5 LDC condenser mics have the same outer body as the superlux mics but they are not the same mics, according to a Sound on Sound review. The bodies are probably made in the same chinese factory. Thomas

    "That" 60's, 70's REVERB sound ???

i've been using SIR with a vintage spring impulse response found on Fokke van Saane 's website and it sounds amazing. i also use some EMT plate ir's and some AKG BX20 ir's. It isn't the real thing but and i can't hook it up to my analog mixer but it's the better than buying a crappy spring...

Relative cheap studio microphones. What do you think?

Hello Will, I saw that mic too on Marktplaats.nl . i didn't bid on it coz it's so hard to get any info on those t.bone mics. And that price is just silly for a tube condenser..... when you get to do some serious recording using that mic let us know how it holds up. vriendelijke groeten, thomas

When I sing/rap how far should I be from my condensor mic?

the truth is there are no rules about how far you should be from your condenser..... if you vocals sound better when you're closer, maybe because of the proximity effect, then so be it...... if it sounds better backed of, then use that..... you just have to listen.... greetings, thomas

    ambient microphones

hi, i used a sennheiser MD421 with great succes as a room mic for drums. I've also heard great things about sennheiser MD21 mics when used as room or ambient mics. those md21's are omni mics so the bass should be more accurate on those when doing distant micing. i'd love to get a pair. thomas

    DC offset problem

hi Skitzz, if a wave is asymmetrical, it doesn't have to mean that it has a DC offset.... A trumpet or a trombone when recorded will usually look asymmetrical but there is no DC offset. Even some distortion pedals produce a asymmetrical distortion to give it a different sound. So if your...
