Re: i liked everything but the timbre yea.. i have a problem with the sounds too.. it's hard to explain... the sound texture is kinda mushed... you need to open up some filters probably and maybe try some other sounds... the piano doesn't mix well with the rest of the sounds... other than...

500$... that's pretty limited... i'd recommend an emu sampler... like the ESI-32 with turbo, full ram & scsi... you can get that for around 150$ ( :eek: ) ... or get the ESI-2000... a bit more expensive but more extended...

waste of money... cheese factory #1... pay a little extra and get an emu sound module instead i say...

the moogs are overhyped and thus, the prize is amazingly high... it's not even like it's innovative or anything... jomox sunsynth is innovative... it's a classic misconception that you have to have a moog... there are alot of just as fine boards out there for less money..

that's because you adress the global channel... you have to set up each track/part on the 5050 to respond to a different channel... otherwise you'll be talking to every track at the same time...

there's mess with some of the knobs... you could say they use 4 bit instead of 7 bit (skips 8 controller values instead of just increasing/decreasing one)... evolution or miditech controllers will probably be a better choise...

i don't really have a fave keyboard... they all have their own unique features... if i could get a mix between the novation supernova II, access virus c, and nord micromodular or nord lead 3 i would be a happy man... and then some analogue synthesis... and maybe an ms2000.... and definitely a...

as of now, i'd say you should both be looking at the evolution midi controllers... you can get 'em in 61 keys as well, with knobs that transmit controller data...

eh.. i have never said that if you don't own a novation you ain't worth shit.. they were just my preferred brand for alot of good reasons for a long time, but others have catched up well... and though getting a real analogue synth would be cool those are either limited in programmabillity or too...
