Importing Tracks from DP24 to Audacity

That's exactly what's happening. I assume (shame on me?) that you are copying the tracks from the SONG folder into the DAW. Try using the EXPORT function which will put those tracks in the AUDIO DEPOT folder, and will pad those partial tracks with the silent parts so that all the tracks start...

    DP_24 SD import tracks

Of course ... it's on page 68 of your manual. Look up Import Tracks.

Tascam 2488 Neo (Importing and syncing multiple tracks within a song)

Are they all the same resolution? You'll need them in 16bit/44.1 or 24bit/44.1 ... and they need to be all the same as the song you're creating on your 2488. (page 81 in the manual). Are the tracks the same length? Do they all start at 00:00:00? If so, there should be no problem. Can you...

    New DP-24 Firmware!!!

First ... you say you don't see a UTILITY folder? Did you format the card in the DP24? If not, do so, and do a full format (even if it's already formatted). Yes, that is the correct file extension (it's the version number). After you format (takes some time) follow the update instructions...

    Will DP24 tracks line-up on a DP32?

The new DPxx models all write to WAV natively ... no proprietary file format as in previous Portastudios. Just be sure than both units set the same (eg, 16 bit/44.1). Not only do the files "line up", you can directly exchange entire projects from one unit to another (providing the setting are...

    Tascam DP-03SD file reading issues....

The DP03 does not write native WAV files to the recorded tracks, but a proprietary format (in a protected partition of the SD card) that your computer won't read. You need to EXPORT TRACKs to get WAV files (automatically converted to WAV), and they'll be in the WAV folder of the SD card. You...

    DP-32 track bleed over

My guess is it's bleeding into the mic(s) from your headphones. There is NO crosstalk on a digital system.

    2488 Transfer issue

Use the EXPORT function. Things get really wonky when you try to just use the raw files ... takes and punch-in/outs are shorter than the song length, as are some recorded parts that didn't start at the beginning. Using EXPORT solves that problem. Check the manual.

Recording Keyboard in Stereo on Tascam Neo 2488

Why not just assign E and F to a stereo track (13/14 thru 23/24)? That's what they're there for.

    Slaving DPs

Which is why I just said "no". You will not, in the end, have twice the tracks ... you'll have to mix/master on ONE of the units, and having to bounce a whole lot of tracks means you mix, bounce, mix, bounce, mix, bounce until you finally have 24 or 32 tracks on one machine. If you need 48 or...

    Master playback on DP-24

Right. Load the song, and go into "MASTER" mode, press PLAY. That IS your master. You don't need to know anything else about it. Which was I said to begin with.

    Master playback on DP-24

I think you're confused, because you sure confused me. You mixed down in "MIX" mode, right? Then you go to "MASTER". In master mode when you press PLAY you are hearing the recording you made in MIX mode, that IS the master file. If you RECORD in master mode you will apply the mastering FX...

headphone monitoring bad quality - DP-24

I'll take a shot at this. OK, so FX are off. You are using inputs A and B (L/R) ... are you then assigning them to a STEREO channel (eg, 13/14)? If you hear noise when not playing I'd suspect that your volume on the keyboard is a little too hot OR you're input TRIM (gain) is set too high or...

    Tascam DP-24

What firmware revision are you running? There was a CD write problem with an earlier version ... v1.10 fixed the issue ... here's a link to Tascam's downloads page. Upgrading is simple, if you need to do it. Product: DP-24 | TASCAM From the release notes:

Speakers - No sound when guitar connected / DP24

First ... all faders down, including master, and turn monitor out all the way down ... I'm assuming you've connected your speakers to the monitor outs (not Stereo Out, which is the mains). 1) Use toggle switch on rear to switch Source H to HI-Z if you have a passive pickup, or leave alone if...

tascam DP 32 (DP 24) transphering master file question

You can't remaster a master. There are ways to work around this ... - you can create your master, export it to PC. Then bring it back into the DP-24 on stereo tracks, and master those tracks into a new master. Read the import section of the manual. The file you import must be 16/24 format...
