DP-24 V1.11 Firmware update released today

Just added a stereo track to 23-24, mixed down, mastered. No problems. Hmmmm .... are you recording in one resolution and mastering to another? I'm using 16/44.1 all the way.

DP-24 V1.11 Firmware update released today

Wow ... that had me scared so I tried it myself. Two guitar tracks (1,4), one vocal (3), one upright bass (12). Mixed and mastered without a hitch. I suppose I need to record something in stereo and add it to the mix. I'll be back with results.

My DP 02 wont read imported Wav files on the WAVE folder?

Read your manual ... page 45 ... the WAVs must be transferred to the WAVE directory in DP02's FAT partition ... the DP02 doesn't read the computer, it only sees its own FAT partition. You must also be careful of file names, must be in 8.3 format (ie, FILENAME.WAV) with no special characters or...

    Boss br600 help

It's working as it's supposed to. You'll access the BR600 via Windows Explorer, as you would any removable media. It's purely for file transfer.

DP-24 V1.11 Firmware update released today

I haven't tested things out completely (like rendering an audio CD from 24/48 tracks) but the mixer issue (EQ and other settings) is fixed, and that's what I cared about. I had dumped the 1.10 release almost immediately once the issue was discovered. This version seems to work fine.

    Figure 8 with DEEP null?

I have no idea ... this is the first time I've ever attempted this, just got hip to the technique in past week. Until now I had no reason to use a figure 8 pattern, as I usually record myself vocal/guitar on a single track. I'll see what I can do ... any suggestions to reduce reflection into...

    Figure 8 with DEEP null?

That's a different mic, actually ... there's no pattern plot on the MXL4000 (but I'd think it's similar to the XL). Actually, the MXL (vocal) is doing a pretty decent job of rejecting the guitar, it's the Samson that seems to pick up too much in the off-axis. I'll continue to mess around with...

    Figure 8 with DEEP null?

I have a Samson CL8 and an MXL 4000. The room is less than ideal, of course, but that isn't gonna change any time soon. I can't find a polar pattern diagram for MXL, but here's the Samson

    Figure 8 with DEEP null?

Looking to record a singer/songwriter and am using the "two figure 8 mic" technique to maximize separation between guitar and vocal. Neither of my cheap variable pattern LDCs seem to have a well-defined off-axis null, just enough to know the technique works, but still more bleed than I'd like...

    New DP-24 Firmware!!!

Boy? sheesh ... you ARE a fool, aren't ya? Yeah, so? Never claimed otherwise, did I? But it doesn't mean the DP-24 is trash, as you so adamantly suggest. Hah! "attack"? You and your buddy just don't like it when someone takes a contrary view. Tough. Right. There's no intelligent discussion...

    New DP-24 Firmware!!!

Bugger off. I'm a musician, not an engineer. When I want professional recording/mixing/mastering I hire a studio ... and they aren't using MTR's. My DP-24 sits in a corner and is used for scratch recordings, capturing ideas for songs and arrangements, and the occasional demo.

    New DP-24 Firmware!!!

Hmmm ... you are excitable, aren't ya? Although I have many things I'd like to say to you, I'll take the higher road and not stoop to your level (I'd hate to hurt my back). I am first and foremost a MUSICIAN and know you can't "fix" in post-production what you can't lay down when tracking. I...

    New DP-24 Firmware!!!

Ain't a recorder in the world that can make up for that. Really.

    New DP-24 Firmware!!!

I see only three reviews, and none less than 4 out of five stars. What more do you want? Apparently not for the terminally impatient. See my comment above. Same deal ... 4 stars. Many decry the absence of drum tracks. Personally, I find them out of place in a MTR ... mostly weak, crappy...

    US-1800 driver problems.

I don't own one, but I installed one last week for a friend. You must install the Tascam drivers BEFORE you connect the unit to USB. See #1 on page 10 of the manual.

    New DP-24 Firmware!!!

That's just what I did, Steve, back to v1.02. We have a similar workflow ... PITA, yeah, but got the job done. I haven't had my unit very long, and have not had any lockups. For me, any really serious editing is better done in a DAW (I'm cheap, and Reaper does the trick for me). I suppose...

    New DP-24 Firmware!!!

Stuff happens. I agree, Tascam was in a rush to get a new firmware release out by the start of NAMM, but I wouldn't go so far as to suggest there's some sort of big corporate conspiracy, nor would I say Tascam has "contempt for its customers". They f'd up, and they'll make it right. The...

    New DP-24 Firmware!!!

The new version has a bug. When saving songs the EQ settings are lost. Even the current song is affected if you do a manual save. Let Tascam know via their support page on their website.

    Noisy PC

Huh? Why would want to send the audio to the recorder through the sound card and not the digital data via USB?
