Somehow I doubt he has time/money to go out and buy a multipatterned tube mic that's not "cheap chinese", go out and buy/build bass traps, and do the proper research and testing needed to get stuff that's not just hearsay from...

I like the non mix eq's because they are much faster than a parametric. You don't have to F around with bandwidth at all, and frequency it's like "300 isn't working, 500....yeah that's it, let's try 700 just to make sure.....nope, 500 it is". It doesn't work when you need to get surgical, or...

the top end of the bass sounds weird to me. The low mids being sucked out isn't really bothering me too much, adding some might make it sound stronger though. Sounds like you might have made a boost in a frequency where the stressed quality of the vox really resonates, or maybe it's just the mic...

Never heard any of them but from what I've heard the best converters are supposedly Radar, Pacific Microsonics, and Prism. I don't think pacific microsonics are made anymore. All are super expensive. $18,800 for a Prism 2 channel AD and a 2 channel DA. WOW. I'm going to get that some day...
