So my new noisy single coil...

The ISP Decimator has worked wonders for me. As ggun said, it will only cut noise when you're not playing, but it's got a very smart threshold/filter and doesn't seem to affect tone at all. It also gives a cool phase affect when you let notes fade...of course that might just be because I have...

Do I need a normally open or closed momentary switch?

If you want it to work while pressing on it, normally open. If you want it to cut off when pressing on it, normally closed.

    From Epiphone to Fender

Thunderbirds are known for terrible weight distribution and crappy wood use. That's why. But I agree, swapping pups in an American Fender is rather dumb.If you want to do a pickup swap, do it to a Mex Made one. The pickups are virtually the only thing that drives the price up and makes it an...

What good VTI instruments are out there?

Depends what kinda "instruments" you're trying to use...Reason has a load of great pianos and keyboards if that's what you need. Also look into plug ins like Komplete

    Damn Zvex pedals are sweet...

The Klon Centaur, IMHO, is nothing but a rediculously overpriced tubescreamer. I would definitely go with a Keeley TS808 before ever considering a Klon. Check out the Hermida Zendrive as well, if you want a real pedal.

How to use adat (behringer ultragain 8)

It's just an optical cable. Out of the ADA8k to the in of the 8pre. Your DAW should recognize it as 8pre channels 9-16.

    Motu Ultralite! so many inputs

Like I said, the interface wouldn't even pick up the signal if it wasn't line level...So boosting something that isn't getting captured isn't going to do any good. Other than a preamp, the ins are for a line level instrument, such as a keyboard or an active guitar or bass (which have preamps...

    Motu Ultralite! so many inputs

No. The signal that comes out of the mic would be so low the interface wouldn't even record it.

    Motu Ultralite! so many inputs

All mics need a preamp to bring it to line level.

    Motu Ultralite! so many inputs

Yes. Just set your DAWs busses to whatever output you want it to be sent to. Reamping would also be a similar task.

    Motu Ultralite! so many inputs

The ins are for external preamps and line level instruments. The outs are for if you wanted to record live, you run the ultralite in between your source and your mixer.

    FS: Peavey XXL

This is a great amp. I hate to let it go, but I have no need for more than 1 amp, and I'd prefer sticking to combos. 4-8-16 ohm switchable, 3 channels with 3 voicings on each. Tight-Medium-Loose dampning switch. Honestly one of the best SS amps I've ever heard. I played around with it a few...

    Linking two amps together??

Actually, you can. Radial Tonebone makes an amp switcher to switch between 2 amps to the same cab. You can wire up the two speakers together (As if they were together in one cabinet), and hook up the outs of the amp to the switcher, and the switcher to your "cabinet". Be aware, wiring the...
