I own a Studiomaster Diamond 16x2. Can't attest to the preamps (although I've never heard anyone complain), but the parametric eq is excellent. I prefer it to digital eq.

I tend to be most objective when I first hit play on my mp3 player on the way to work in the morning, before I've had any caffeine. My best judgements on general mixes and composition are within that small window of time. When I'm mixing though, I can't really do that, so I take lots of breaks...

I started with N-tracks and it was a pain in the ass for the things I wanted to accomplish. When I got my RME soundcard, it was bundled with Samplitude and all my issues were immediately cleared up. Plus I got a nice, thick user manual that I'm still reading years later to learn new things.

I uploaded my first song on myspace and I noticed the player says "Loading Error", but if you click on "Stand Alone Player", the song plays. What did I do wrong?

Don't really know either, but if I had to guess I would say they use optical cables which can carry multiple signals at a time from the drives to the desks while keeping the tracks separate.
