Open the box Dennis, open the box...! I think the VF160's manual has got a bad press. I didn't find it too bad at all, and if you're just doing vocal layering, once you've worked out how to do one track, the rest will just follw. The VF160 is a great machine, enjoy it. Dave www.DaveWare.co.uk

Obvious.... You could record the drums with less mics. I'm no expert but I'm sure there are great ways of placing a minimal number of mics to get a tip top drum recording... Dave www.daveware.co.uk

Drums The drum kit is recorded directly into the Fostex VF160, and I use some of the internal effects to get the sound I want. It's taken me a great deal of trial and error to nail the drum sound.

Just to add to this... You can even get the VF160 to remember where your faders were, if you edit the program settings you can tell it to remember this info when a scene is stored. Then, once you've recalled your scene you can use the fader adjust option and that will show you on the screen...

Ace...! Had a listen to Trade Secrets, and even on my PC at work it sounded great. Nice acoustic sound, kind of intimate sounding if you know what I mean. Well done - keep it up...!

Surely the CDRW can only burn what's on the hard drive, it can't add bass... I've had no problems with mine.
