Better yet...
ow about a list of your credits and the name and address of the stu dio this numbs guy works in. I don't see that anywhere. Seems to me this guy just wanted to be contentious to get a rise. It worked he got it. Now what.
for now I am using a MOTU 2408 mkII. i run it in conjunction with a 24 track analogue board. I have wanted 24 real tracks for quite some time and considered exapnsion units. It now appears that MOTU has answered my needs nicely. since I am not usin an DATS or dedicated hard disc recorders, the...
Actually, I know what it is, my main question is really, how does it work with other programs. Particularly, what is Rewire and is this necessary. Alson, what is Recycle and is this also necessary.
After all that is determined, how will it all work with my main program which is Digital...
As I have said, I do have the 2 610. I cannot imagine why anyone would call the sound indiosyncratic. And this is not to belittle the comment or the person who made it. In fact, I can appreciate that each has their own opinion and I value that. The point is that I have been using the 2 610 as my...
I have seen discussions about pres set sounds for sale verse programming the synth yourself etc. I am sure amny people use factory pre sets aand/or twaek them a bit.
So it erks (is that a word?) me when people say they heard a pre set factory sound on a recording and because of that...
How about the AEA Large Ribbon Geometry Mic 9RCA knock-off).
But, by the way, at the moment, I wold say the decision is between the Neuman TLM 103, AT 4047 9I believe (this is the model) or, the B.L.U.E. baby Bottle.
The only other choices I am considering is the Studio Projects Tube model or...
Vocal mics seem to be one of the most ubiquitous pieces of gear made. The choices are numerous. So, when you can only get one mic and you want it to be a good one, what do you do?
I have just about settled on the Neuman TL103. It seems like you could hardly go wrong with this choice. But still...
I disagree with your approach. That it pissed you off beucase someone else 'salted" the ballots should tell you something. First, the validity of the contest is in question. The next thing is the whole idea that music is somehow a competitive sport. To me, it is not but hey, t thier own.

Oh, and by the way, whichever one you do get, you will end up doing like I do which is, recording everything through it. Actually putting something through my Mackie board seems like a degenerative thing at this point. Still good for mixing though.
I recently purchased the 2-610 but I did look at the 2108 while considering the purchse. In the end I went with the tube model since I plan to add at least one 1176 later on. what is really intersting is that UA has now put out a channel strip of sorts that is a one channel unti featuring one...
Last night I saw a live Salsa band playing in a club. They had five horn players, three trumpets and two tenor saxaphones. the mics for the trumpets for 57s but here is the strange thing, they seened to have a sort of round, clear plastic collar device apparently to prevent either feedback of...
But, once you get into Analogue mixers and such, especially with the addition of other gear, is not gain staging the most important factor when it comes to noise, hiss, distortion and the like.
The point is, any mixer, even I assume an SSL though I never tried this, will have hiss if you plug...
I don't think this can be done, however, you might beable to use the Triton as an outboard effects devise and use some of the effects on the MPC. Other than that, I doubt it and would imagine that you have to redo the sequences on the Triton.
The only thing I can think of is to convert the MPC...
Oh, by the way, that silly name of Phil McCraken is from my work computer. I could not use the same name so I used that bu Jack Hammer and PHil McCrakin (actually both silly names) are mine.
The one for $3500 is the signature limited edition. The performance model is without the signature or something like that. I am not exactly sure what the deal is and will check further. Actually, I believe the guy showed me and it was something cosmetic. By the way, there is one extremely...
Pkay, fiar question. first off, long term storage. Spped is not that mportant however, size is. Presently, I store files on CD however, it can take three or four discs to store an entire file which is cumbersome. I would like a medium where this is not the case. I would imagine that DVD might...
Just to set the record straight, I at no time meant to suggest that my opinion is absolutely THE opinion. I am not offering as a "do-it-yourself" guide. I was hoping just to give my opinion to someone brave enough to ask.
Just the fact that you put together such a site (and by the way, overall...
Since you want to do rap, you would be well advised to get the Pro tools digi 002. this is about 2k. You will then need a good computer, about 1k and a Triton le about 1.5k. I know this is a bit over budget but in my opinion, a rap guy couldn't possible have a better starting setup and, the...
