My core2 runs great on my PII 450 192k, scsi
but My cousin gets tons of pops and clicks on his slower 128k ide system.
I like the card and the mp100 is outrageous for the money! It really helps at mixdown to have realtime effects without slowing the processor down.
I plugged in my didgital camrea plug to my computer's card which has ps/2, (some other port, is it infared? or IE?, and 2 usb ports.
Immediately I realized the docs said to POWER DOWN FIRST! but Immediately before I mad my error.... My usb modem was dark.
Is there a certain thing that blows up...
I took the double sliding doors off of the closet in my studio, (you know.. the ones that always fall off the track ANYWAY) and put up 1 wall to make an iso booth.
1 door and window were also used though I chose a double pane glass and it sure is a hummer! Man! This window talks! I am able to...
I love it when people (Including me) start to carve up a steak that hasn't been born yet.
xx.xx% to the bbs..
xx.xx% to the administrators/producers.
xx.xx% to the next cd with first right of refusal of inclusion, in case I dumped my cheap song on the first cd and am ready for a knockout...
Have you recieved my stuff? I will send the photo asap, but I haven.t recieved a reply for my lyrics/long winded bio/ info. Im the guy who got his cd eaten by a dog.

I overnited the cd to 'ed'? on tues. He should have it today the 26th. What else do I supply? I have been gone. Credits/etc? Do I rememebr talk of techniques/gear used being listed as a learning experience?
I'm ready. (just late) But ready!
ok, I am back. I can only apologize and will understand If I am dropped. If you can give me the info 1 MORE TIME! (I know...) I will get you a song (ready to go) very fast.
So sorry I was gone. Business and stuff, but I have time to complete the project if I can get things like this...
Of course thats an issue! They are all issues. Technically, I bet there is no possible legal, moral, "make every body happy", way of producing this cd. I don't know about copyrights or royalties.
I'm gonna send a copyrighted song. This means I have the copy rights. Whoever makes/distributes the...
The 16 track limitations I was referring to, we linked to the limitations of funds, assuming comparable budgets for ADAT/ANALOG systems, versus computer systems.
If you go buy a couple of ADATS, you will always need more gear, never have enuf different reverbs for mixdown, and have to wait for...
There are companies releasing soundcard packages with xlr inputs/preamps/mixing software included for 699$. Get some recording mags (eq,mix, electrminc musician) or maybe check thier web-sites and you will see lots of ads for stuff.
The toughest thing about home studios is buying it piece at a...
I say no mp3. If there is ANY loss of quality.
And why upload .wav's? I we all piss cd's away burning out latest mixes before they are done.(Don't you guys? I do!), and postage is nothing. Lets mail the cd's (or casettes) to one of these GENEROUS guys who is offering to put them all on one cd...
I must bring up a point about computers.
I have a 450 PII with 192 meg of ram and 2 ultra wide scsi II disk drives. This is more powerful than almost everyone I talk to. (no replies please about your 384mb pII600mhz, I know you are out there). But I am telling you about my gear to prove a point...
Adjusting midi timing?
That brings up an answer to my original question I received somewhere else.
LEARN YOUR GEAR BEFORE YOU BUY ANYTHING ELSE!
I am not a midi guy and actually, I'm kinda being a whimp when it comes to learning more about it. Fear of the unknown. So I just lay down the drums to...
Yes, as a matter of fact, I have the roland d110 (6 outs) connected to my boss dr202 (2 more outs) for a total of 8 outs on my drum setup. The prob is, the sounds in the d110 are old and sound like an old early 80's drum machine. Plus, I still cant trust the timing on midi drum tracks. I never...
Look at a Metallica .wav. Its all signal!
Look at your .wav. It probably has peaks and valleys much greater than what the pro .wav's look like. Heres how I get mine hot.
Either compress, or limit.
I do it in Samplitude. The peaks are usually 2 or 3 db higher tan the 'meat' of the .wav. So limit...
I believe you may want to try working on the vocalists technique. You know the routine.
Turn the head on the loud parts. Back off the mic a bit during the peaks.
I have let my (very dynamic) wife watch the VU meters during a practice take so she can see the spikes. After 1 mention of it, she...
Well, the Focusrite voicemaster is a pretty good pre-amp. (editors choice, as well as the blueberry, in eq mag)
but the 770. Does it have multiple outs? VERY important. I will look into that. Good suggestion.
and I have some cables coming already.
thanks for the input... so far..
Anyone else?
