I like to do thing my own
I like to record the real drum better; beacuse it gives me more options to do what i want.
MIDI DRUM is good and easy....
just image Manual car and automatic gear car...
automatic gear is easy and good to drive....
but why nascar racer still using manual gear? beacuse...
NOW....let's discuss
how to compress drum without overload (caused of mezzy dirty sound)
A Clean TIE drum......
which is very tough
i always getting too much compress on high hat and crash......
even though i only compress Bass and snare...the high hat and crash ends up very mezzy...
Let's talk about the drum recording u hate the most(anything since 90's)
First....I hate Jet's drum recording ....
the high hat and crush are so mezzy and the snare is characterless
all i hear is BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM~
Do you guys know what they done wrong?
Second...U2....i like their earier...
OK....first i agree that D 112 isn't the best for bass drum...
but it's still a "PRO" quality bass mic....
Is anyone know a "correctly" way of using this mic?
because so far ....i still only getting a 70's quality from this mic.....(my bass kick sounds like rolling stone)
Is any way i can tune...
Anyone hear Maroon 5's "this love" right...?
the drum in that song is so awsome : D.......
anyone know how they get that drum sound !?!?!? i want it so bad
M201 is Hypercardioid
Beta 57 is Super-Cardiod
Shur57- is cardiod
is hypercardoid really have better isolation?
ONCE MORE TIME CHECK : ( Because I am about to pay ...)
no...not virus...
i have the same problems u have
one or two things i can says is....
tune down ur Buffer size....beacuse ur CPU is running out memory.....
that mostly i think why...it works better when i turn down buffer size.
also...u know Cubase wasn't that stable anyway.....
so....Beta 57 catch more wider stuff?
So in ur words, Beta 57 is more wide range ? beacuse it catch 180 degree as well which Cardioid didn't.....in another word, it's not as narrow as Shur 57?
YO GUYS
we have been discussed for a long time
let's show up some our stuff!
shows some your recording samples and let's hear how it sounds :D
you can also do a single mic sample just to show us how it goes
i will put my sample on in a sec( can't find any website to put my sample yet)
AKG got some great mic for vocal used!
Great quality
less noise
good compress
and frequency range!
C 4000 B
super good
Dual Digrham
loud db avaliable: -20 pad
low frequency ability as good as D112 (even better)
avaliable to use to a lot of type of recording
: recording for narrow direction...
man...
if u got more drum then mic...
i will suggest u use condensor....
usually we use condensor mic for nature reverb (overall sound catch)
and dynamic for close micing
so...in ur situation...what u really need is a pair of good condensor mic then you got enough.... : D
2 condensor + 3...
The most crazy way of recording electronic guitar...
use 3 sources: 2 direct in, 2 mic in
2 direct in with 2 different POD setting
a pair stereo mic
then you will have a 4 tracks recording ...later on...it's the deal of how you mix and balance : D.....but trust me....it sounds FULL and awsome!
Sounds Good!
wow,M201 sounds like very cool weapon : D....(automatic rifle system in USA military)
HAHA joking ,
u make me want to buy this mic so bad........ ....i ...will...buy it
radio shack.....
U joking...men...
i bough my first mixer at there....300 dollars
believe me or not, i feel terrible just a year later...beacuse i realize i can buy much better stuff in other store with the same price...
Microphone EQ is important as well
different mic pick up different frequency strongly...
Normal dynamic mic pick up more middle range frequency
and sometimes it may be a disadvantage for people who like the high pitch snare...(but good for people who like 80's snare)
the super low punch also a...
