    Ever Notice...

What about when you're mixing a song and you have to play it over and over and over and over for days sometimes. I'm sure my neighbors must think I'm crazy. Not to mention how it drives the rest of the people in the house nutts also.

    Ever Notice...

As soon as you start to record yourself playing the guitar or any other instruments, your nose or other parts of your face start to itch? Don't you hate that. Ok, back to your regular scheduled program.

Micing Guitar amp with Condensor mics

    >>I've got a lot of mics and most of the time I prefer dynamic mics for amps... and one of my favorite dynamic mics for amps is the Sennheiser MD421. << DJL Just curious what mics do you have? Why do you prefer the dynamics? I know the MD421 are highly liked and recommended around here as...

Micing Guitar amp with Condensor mics

Does anybody here mic their guitar amp with a condensor mic for recording purposes? I had a feeling this was a way to go to get a better sounding recording. That was when I had an analog recorder and I just couldn't get a good sound with my SM57 but now that I got a digital recorder it's not so...

    SPL stands for? Impedence Means?

Thanks Crazy, I noticed these ads mention the pre amps function for PC based recordings. Are pre amps usually used for general purpose recordings also, like let's say with the Korg D1200? I mean I know I can record and get a good signal without one now, but will having one improve things or just...

    SPL stands for? Impedence Means?

Oh I see, that's probably why when I record my guitar amp using my mic I have to turn the trim very high just to get a good signal. So if I bought a pre amp this would boost up the mic and improve it's picking up. What are some good common pre amps? Thanks

    SPL stands for? Impedence Means?

Intersesting analogy, so the mic is the bat and what would the ball be? Changing the subject--I've been hearing alot about pre amps. A pre amp is a box that gives power to a mic? When do you use a pre amp?

    SPL stands for? Impedence Means?

Ah very well Bob. Yes your explanation is very confusing , thank you. You say the usual reference for mic sensitivity is 94 db SPL, interesting. I'll have to check my SM57's SPL, just out of curiousity.

    Korg D1200s

Yeah, I got it, that's cool. I'm learning. So tracks 1-6 are mono channels and 9-12 are stereo channels hmm I see, I had it backwards I think. I'm recording a song right now with a drum machine is it better to record the drum machine on a stereo channel, instead of just a mono channel? I always...

    Korg D1200s

Clever indeed, copying track 7 to 8, I wonder when I would of thought of that if ever. I guess they made those tracks for the keyboard players that use stereo inputs, I don't know. Dang I just expected twelve stereo tracks like tracks 1-6. Now I have this split thing, I don't know what to do...

    Korg D1200s

Hey Dime, cut me some slack I'm new to this stuff. I've only had my D1200 for a couple of days. So what's up with lets say tracks 7 & 8. You say "They are stereo-channels, each of them consisting of two paired mono-channels, with their panning set hard left and right." What does that mean...

    Korg D1200s

Uh never mind what I said in my last post. I just figured out how to record on tracks 5,6,11,12. Also you can record on any track using the guitar input. Well if the manual would of explained things better I wouldn't of been so confused. But we all know about these manuals and how frustrating...

    Korg D1200s

de Korg 1200 Yeah I'm having a bit more fun now that I know how to use it a little. But I'm also finding out it's much more limited than what I expected. For example what if I want to plug my guitar into the handy guitar input #1 but record on lets say track #3? No can do amigo. Or what if I...
