I have used a Rode nt2a with success, pretty nice mic for cabs too and cheap..

do a search on the Shure, it is one of my favorite mics and would replace it in a heartbeat if it were gone. Works for many things , save overheads..

low cut cuts lows -10 db reduces the input by 10db if you are only using those two mics, a shockmount should be pretty far down on your list of needs
