    VST 5 24bit -16Bit

I use Wavelab for "mastering", if you can call what I do mastering :) .... But if you only use Cubase, then I would get it "polished off" as much as you can after you mix it in Cubase, and then just export your song as a stereo .wav file at 16 bit 44.1 khz....and then burn it. I'm in W.Meadows...

    Telefunken TD21!?

Anyone heard of or used this mic. I found it in the local trading post. The price is rather high for a second hand mic , so I thought it could be one of those classic telefunken toys. Anyone heard of TD21? thanks

    Mute automation on analog consoles...

yeah true...I was particularly mentioning the analog system, and the actual noise picked up from an analog board circuitry..I guess it would be more significant with the lower end consoles, as you would expect the high end ones to have better noise specs... Thanks for input jake

    Mute automation on analog consoles...

....how important do you think mute automation is to prevent the "noise" from channels not being used at certain times.....and how much noise is there actually on a channel turned up but not having anything playing back thru it. thanks

    VST 5 24bit -16Bit

well, I'd say if you're gonna do something with the song (master it) after the Cubase, I'd bring it out of Cubase in 24bit, and then dither down just when you've done everything and are ready to burn the song....cheers BTW, where abouts in Melbourne are you?

    Opinions Please

vocals are hot indeed as kramer said....listening....the drums are a bit repeatitive and boring especially hihat is the same throughout the song (exept guitar solo)...try to "miss" the open hats a few times or something to make it less repeatitive..... it's a good song overall, mate.... keep it...

How many FX units do you have patched....

Thanks Rat and Franco... Yeah it does get "out of hand" sometimes with the number of units, in my case, plug-ins at the moment (franco you doin good with only 2 or 3 :D ).....sometimes I choose let's say 1 delay and 2 or 3 reverbs to start with , but then you realize you want this for snare...

How many FX units do you have patched....

....into your mixer, of course if you mix with an aoutboard desk..... What do you use as the minimum no of delays and reverbs on 16-24 track song.. The reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to figure out how many effect units I need, coz i decided that I wanna (try to) do some proper stuff :D ...

    emailing a song? .all

.all file means nothing to you....you need all the .wav files that your friend had recorded and is using in the song.....that's gonna be a FEW emails, not one ;) ...tell your friend to burn all the .wav files (tracks) onto a CD (as data) and mail it to you.....

New questions in this thread !!

Hi Dead Poet, When you mentioned cutting the slab....do you think that ,if you had room for a comfy set up and if one was building it from ground up, it would be advisable to actually do two separate, not-connected slabs for each, control and studio rooms (or whatever nymber of rooms one would...
