i cut the mids instead and give my tone more bass. but that's just me and what i like my guitar to sound like. if you record with a good sound you shouldn't have to do much post recording eq. if you are a beginner, you probably haven't found your sound yet. try the mid cut to see if it suits...

i suppose that would depend on how long you let it dry. petrified dog poop has the most sustain but is extremely rare. softer dog poop has less sustain but a deeper tone.

i wouldn't think so. i leave mine on standby when i'm not using it. (but i do turn it off at night...most of the time) it'll shorten the tube life a bit but i like it to be good and hot when i get ready to play. =]

actually, you can on most all tube amps. i think there may be a few exceptions but i can't remember. check the link i posted above. i learned a LOT about tube amps from reading the web site. my carvin v3 has a switch to go from 100 to 50 watts and it does just that. it disables/enables two...

people on this board have recommended Eurotubes a number of times. i've checked it out and there is a wealth of information there including videos on biasing. marshalls are covered.

then just don't do it while you're n the bath tub. :D

i haven't gigged in years so i can't answer your second question. why unplug the guitar just to set the height of the pickup??? it doesn't make any sense. yup. it's a hassle. this is a set it and forget it procedure. when adjusting pickup height i'm looking for a sweet spot so i'm playing...
