Hi all, I've been working on a new song ("Stars Inside") - sort of jangle-pop/rock. Unfortunately I suspect the mix needs lots of work. My monitors tell me the mix is really treble-rich and harsh, while my headphones tell me it's muddy and dull. Maybe it's both?! I'm specifically wondering...

It's a pretty song, but it felt a bit plodding by the mid point. Maybe a faster ostinato synth part could give it some more energy? The vocals sound pretty good (esp the harmonies) but I heard some chair noise on the mic about halfway thru. Nice job.

It has the laconic, deadpan delivery that I always liked about Beck. Not a fan of the of mic distortion - it sounds like a clipped digital signal. If you want the vocal distortion you should find a tube overdrive effect to mellow it out. The vocal in general has an "old fashioned telephone"...

Not really my style of music but the mix sounds good for EDM. The vocals are little muffled, like they are missing some high end/air. And the singing is a little pitchy in places. Thanks for posting.

The mix sounded good to me, although I'd turn the acoustic lead up a bit and maybe EQ it so it stands out more. The electric lead is really dry - but I'm guessing that's the sound you want, and it does help the lead lines to stand out.
