I disagree. That MIGHT be true if you spent $1000 on the best headphones in the world, and $100 on the shittiest "monitors". In which case your $1000 would be 100x better spent on a pair of HR824's and a pair of K240 Studios (my pick on the list!). I think even some krk 6's or behry truths...
More bass buildup in the corners, everything I've ever heard says its far better to put you mix position in the middle of the room. Against a wall in the middle is what most people do, but if you can, pull your mix pos out a few feet so it's more in the middle of the room. The corner is the...
From the wiki:
"DIs are frequently used to connect an electric guitar or electric bass to a mixing console's microphone input."
Elec guitar/bass arent line level! But the mixer's mic input isnt either.... So now I'm confused - I have a tube mp I plug a bass into, and run it into the line-in...
A synth prolly shouldnt go thru a preamp - it likely needs to go to a line-in instead. Line-in is a much louder signal. The TS 1/4" in's on a mixer are suited for a line-in signal strength. You could try a steres headphones -> dual TS -> 2 channels on your mixer/interface,
yo bro wzup! I just signed a contract to get a house here in GA. pool table, hot tub, full finished basement WITH a 18x13 room just for a new supr-studio! Closing 4/30, im so excited to get outa this dump and into there!! ill have some pics this summer some time! OOWWWWWWWwwwww.....
I thought iso's and nrg's were interchangeable. In fact, I thought you could even rename a .nrg to an iso, or vice-versa, and it's still burn just fine. I might be wrong, but I thought I did that in the past. In any case, either will burn an audio cd just fine.
Yep. And hell yeah make em yourself. I made 4 4'x2'x6" panels for $100, not counting the cost of beer. Not to dog the places that make and ship em to you, but they cost like 4x as much. I'm making 4 wedges for the corners next, ala...
It's supposed to be like that, I think it sounds good. What VHS says about dissonance or whatever. Cool song! The drums sound kinda thin tho. I dont think it's too cymbally, but I think the snare sounds kinda snappy, I'd try to eq some more 'meat' into it. IDK what it needs exactly, I...
You think so eh? I'm not so sure.. The foam will absorb only the highest freq's, and the wood will reflect everything else right back into the mic, which is extremely close to those walls, so those reflections will be strong. I say you're better off taking that thing away, and recording in...
I use Cubase, because an LE version came with the first interface I bought when I first got serious about trying to record stuff. If I bought an mbox, it'd be protools. They all do pretty much the same stuff, whatever you learn on will do the job once you know how to do the basic stuff.
In hundreds of live shows I never ran a stereo PA in my life. Every channel panned dead center. Do mono unless you have some extremely compelling reason to do otherwise.
I'd give ya $75 for it :D There, you lost $25 on it, and if you're getting $5 per behry pedal, you lost about that much on each of the behrys too. Buying expensive gear, you may lose a lower percentage of when it comes to resale value. Cheap gear will lose a higher percentage, and those 2...
Basically what Guitargodgt said - Between DAWs, interfaces, mics, and monitors, way over a grand, probably 3. Add drums, guitars, amps, keyboards, etc. you can add a zero to that number and be in the right ballpark. Actually, I've probably spent a grand just on cables! IDK how you could be on...
Are you going to do mobile tracking or something? Why a laptop vs a desktop? Like Geezer says, you can totally deck out a desktop with double or triple the horsepower for the same $$. If you also want a laptop to take to school or some other unrelated purpose, then there's your answer.
