Should I buy a DI Box or mic for my tube amp or should I stick to Amplitube?

Another sim you might try is Scuffham amps. I own it, it's great, and gets rave reviews. It doesn't do everything that Amplitube does, but it doesn't need to. I've used it on my latest recordings, and I defy anyone to tell me that it is a sim.

    Crafter Guitars ?

A friend had one of their smaller guitars, I forget the model. Set up properly, it played well and sounded ok. Nothing special compared to full-size guitars, but for a travel guitar, it was pretty good, especially with a pickup installed. Can't find the model anymore, must be discontinued. I...

    AmpliTube Fender. Anybody used this?

I've got it. It's pretty good. In a 64 bit host it has to run within Amplitube, though.

    Native Instruments Komplete 10

I have too much stuff as it is, so I'll probably give it a pass. I wouldn't mind the full Kontakt, though.

    Anyone bought Sampletank 3 yet?

Unless you absolutely need it to run older IK VIs in 64 bit hosts, I would walk away from it. Not impressed. Meh.

    Poll About Cracked Software

No, but I wouldn't hesitate if the companies from whom I have purchased products from go tits up without giving a code to essentially make it unprotected. The guy from Spectrasonics says that his company will do that if worse comes to worst, but until now, nope.

    Do you use strap locks?

My last guitar, a D-28, I decided to have strap-locks installed. Schaller, I believe.

    So I got this...

I don't know what I'd do with that, honestly. For orchestral stuff, I have VSL Special Eds.; For everything from modern synth sounds to morphed traditional instruments, I have Omnisphere; for drums I have BFD 2 and Addictive Drums. Bass and guitars I play myself. I've looked at Komplete 9, and...

    Your Opinion On Amp Sims

I have Amplitube 3 and Scuffham Amps. I enjoy both and can get very good tones out of them. As for being able to tell the difference, I expect it is only other musicians who may be able to hear a difference from the real thing. Actual people, like fans listening to their stereo or an audience at...

    The Fabled Martin D-28

You only live once. I tried a bunch of cheapish Pac-Rim acoustics, you know the ones that people say are 'great guitars for the money.' Without exception, I found them lacking, so I sold them. The only MiC Gitbox that I have now is my beater, and it is almost too pretty for that role (Recording...

How Many Guitars do you own

About 5 or 6 too many.

    The Fabled Martin D-28

Thanks for your replies. I received the D-28 back from my luthier on Tuesday, and it is truly a beautifully sounding and playing instrument. I don't have a lot of opportunity to play Martins, as the local shop doesn't stock them, and I haven't seen any come up in local eBay adverts. So, my...

    Too Many Guitars??

Just sold a couple to buy a Marty D-28. Still have too many, though.

    The Fabled Martin D-28

Hi, I already have one of the new OM-21s and an 000-M, so I am covered for small gits. I want a dread to round that out. The HD-28 is about €300.00 more than the D-28. For herringbone and scalloped bracing, is it really worth that much extra? Every Gibson acoustic I've played have been...

    The Fabled Martin D-28

All it's cracked up to be? I am thinking of getting one as a kind of 'bucket-list' guitar. :guitar: Thankee, TJ
