How much did you pay for your most expensive axe?

I was at that point a few years ago. I started feeling claustrophobic in our flat, so I sold a bunch, some good, some meh, two that had some bad mojo from my past. That is what I mean about hassle. I took a beating on almost all of the guitars I sold, and dealing with potential customers, well...

How much did you pay for your most expensive axe?

Lol. Possibly. All I know is, it has been a huge amount of time, effort, hassle, and yes, fun, getting to this point. I may look, and go 'OOOH!' but I won't really, really, want it enough to go through the time, effort, hassle to get it. I don't even bother looking at electrics now. I have 9...

How much did you pay for your most expensive axe?

Nice guitars make me want to play them more often, and sometimes just playing a nice guitar puts me in the zone where my playing ups its game a bit. I've got a bunch of great gits now, and my GAS is officially over. Topping or equaling what I already have is pointless.

How much did you pay for your most expensive axe?

A Martin D-28. A pile. I can't see spending more than a grand on an electric. I've got a few nice ones, the most expensive being a Gibson SG Classic.

    question about Saegull S6

I find the sound of the Seagull gets dull very quickly, so I would use Elixir nano 80/20 custom lites, 11-53.

    Amplitube and Garageband Users

Amplitube 3 is fun, and can get a lot of very useable tones from it. My fave is Scuffham Amps, though. Not as many bells and whistles, but what it does, it does very well.

Anyone tried a Marcus Miller Sire Bass yet?

I bought a replacement, and it is perfect. I can definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a good J-Bass that won't break the bank. I am wary of 'flava of da month' type things, but this is the real deal. Lots of excellent reviews, too.

Anyone tried a Marcus Miller Sire Bass yet?

Ok, I tried one. I am sending it back. Beautiful guitar, but incorrectly cut nut and needed a fret dressing, for which I wasn't prepared to pay extra. Thomann is the the European distributor, and they already have 7 units listed as B-Stock clearouts.

Old POD XT vs amp sim plugin

Re IKM, too long to go into, but, yeah, a lot of people are pissed with them. I bought a fair number of plugins at crossgrade prices, still weren't cheap, and then they practically gave them away, making re-selling practically impossible. Then there was the issue of 32 bit plugs not upgraded for...

Old POD XT vs amp sim plugin

I would recommend Scuffham Amps sim. Amplitube is good, too, but I don't particularly like IK Multimedia's business M.O. I have an xt, and I can't sell it even at €75. The amp sim plugins are far superior, imo.

Anyone tried a Marcus Miller Sire Bass yet?

I've seen some excellent reviews of these, wondering if anyone has tried one, yet. The natural V7 is giving me serious GAS.

Short scale basses - anyone play one? Recommendations?

No problems, I don't take gear preferences personally, lol. Just sharing my experience. Another SS bass to look at would be the Gibby SG bass. I have a friend who used to have one a long time ago, but it was ripped-off. I liked it. I just don't see myself shelling out €900 for one.

Short scale basses - anyone play one? Recommendations?

I have the cheapo Höfner Beatle Bass. It's ok, once you dial in the right settings and have the appropriate compression added. I am thinking of getting a better one, but I just don't see myself shelling out a pile for a bass guitar. I have a Yamaha long-scale which is fine, and the both are...

Should I buy a DI Box or mic for my tube amp or should I stick to Amplitube?

Ha! I'll re-phrase that. I'd defy anyone to differentiate, in my recordings, between Scuffham and a mic'ed amp.
