    Marshall V67 at Mars Music

Psst....comear,kid... I asked a sales person at Mars this evening what the V67 costs, and he dutifully went to his screen and came back to announce $89.99. Apparently it's on sale. It was closing time so I couldn't hear it but I will soon.

    TC VoicePrism

Digitech did make one machine using IVL's engine that was up to snuff: the discontinued Studio Vocalist (and Studio Vocalist EX.) I paid $750 for a new one in 1996,I've seen used ones for around $450.

Where's the best place to get the mindprint envoice?

Guitar Center is blowing out their remaining stock of Envoices.I got a new in box unit with the DIO card for $350.If the GC near you is already out, they can get one from another store transferred,if there are still any around...

    Amazing 100% Original '52 Telecaster

On a lighter note, have you seen the ebay auction where the guy wants 10 grand for an Ovation Adamas just because it was owned by Nancy Wilson of Heart? I'll take 2,please...NOT!

    PMI Audio VT-1

I used to have a Roland VS880EX and like you was dissatisfied with the preamps.I found a Midiman 24 bit Flying Calf A/D converter for $100 and went in to the Roland via S/PDIF with it.Big improvement. You should be able to do likewise with your Korg.

Premium XLR Cable for LD Condenser Mic?

IMHO there is no greater example of Emperor's New Clothes in audio than in the area of cables.BTW,I just snagged a brand new Blue KIWI cable for $32 out the door, which is less than what Monster 100 (which I already have at home) would have cost me. It's all the cable I'll ever need.

    MK012 v. C1000S v. NT3

If you can bear having a plastic box (what will the neighbors think!) they are currently only $99 at GC,and if you have time you can go through a half dozen or so to find good ones. The issue is the Quality control or lack thereof from the factory.Loose screws, stuff shaking around in the...

Roland VS 2480 versus Yamaha 4460 and others

The new Yamaha AW2816 is about $1500 cheaper than the VS2480,and has most of the features of the AW4416.Both Yamaha machines have a sonic edge over the Roland IMHO in that they do not compress the audio data. Ergo, ballsier sound.

VSR-880 Are they still being made

Mine came with a 3.1 gig HD,which gives about 480 track minutes in VSR mode.Yes you can punch in,both manually and automatically. It's essentially the same machine as Roland's VS880EX/890,minus the faders.

    <$1000: Yamaha vs.Takamine Electric Classical

No,I haven't.I think, however,I'd rather go with a guitar that could be used unplugged and still sound good. The solid nylon string guitars I have heard (Gibson) only worked when amped. But I'll keep looking, thanks.

    <$1000: Yamaha vs.Takamine Electric Classical

I've been shopping for a classical guitar with a pickup.I like the Takamine 132,but then there's the Yamaha CGX171cc which has a 2 way system.Any users of either brand care to comment?

    Buying a Mic Preamp

If you're gonna try the Joe Meeks,I'd recommend the VC6Q over the VC3Q.I just took 'em both home over the weekend and the 6 sounds better,it's got less noise, and gives you a little more options like sweepable mids.I'm not saying the 3 is bad,'cause it's not,but if you can swing it get the 6. Monster Studio Pro 1000 Instrument Cable

My take is that Monster's 100 series is good value, better than most of the others you'll be able to get at the same price, but unless you find them on sale, the 500 series and 1000 series don't justify the extra cost.

    Next piece of gear?

Don't Laugh Until You've Tried This Go buy a cable that has a stereo 1/8" mini jack on one end and 2 1/4" mono jacks on the other, and plug the mini end into the headphone output on the DR-5,and the 1/4" ends into your recorder.Crank the slider for the output on the DR-5,and you'll have a lot...

Rode NT1000 as good as they say?

RODENT K I just got back from hearing this mic for the 1st time, and I'm quite impressed.Big,crisp, warm sound, and a great price. It's on my short list after using the NT1 for 2 years as my next upgrade.BTW I intentionally connected the letters of the mic's name for those who haven't gotten Rode's...
