i use the m-audio sp-5b's. i'm happy with how they sound. if it sounds good through those, it usually sounds good through most everything else. but the bass took a while to figure out. anyone have any suggestions for what sort of sub i could use to help out the bass on these small speakers?
i've heard that radio head did some of their recordings at abbey road, specifically the bends and ok computer. i don't know if that's true or not, but if so it adds to what's already been said about great albums being made at abbey road.
now the problem is gone. i don't know what happened, but i can turn it on and off and the computer doesn't care anymore. oh well, i'm not complaining.
yeah i'm using XP.
that's the curse of being a proof-reader. i'm working on my masters in linguistics and i'm a horrible speller, but i sure as hell notice other people's mistakes.
back to distribution...for those just starting out, i would recommend just printing your own, or having some place print up about...
no i won't. i just want to have both set hooked up so i can listen through them seperatly without having to switch any cables around. the reason i need to do this is because i have one card that only does my midi, and another that only does my audio. but, if the signals will still be strong...
i want to hook up two sets of speakers to two different sound cards. but each card only has one set of main outputs. should i just use y-spliters, or will the sound levels drop too much? is there another way to do this?
i'm looking to get an adat to be used primarily as an AD converter for a digi001. i want it to send the signal to the digi001 at 20 bits and 48 khz, and have 1/4" jacks on the back. which model would fit this description? thanks
i'm thinking about picking up an ashly sc-50 for electric guitar and maybe to beef up acoustics amd who knows maybe try it on vocals. all i have now is an RNC and the waves plug-ins. what do you think?
i have the RNP and DMP3 and RNC as well as a few other compressors and pres, but i'm looking at some of the symetrix stuff used. which pres and which compresors do you recomend? i'm not looking for anything in particular, just more choices and flavors. maybe something for vocals and a good...
i really like the NT5's for overheads and acoustic guitar. they really do give you what you hear. there is no harsh high end, just very natural. my one complaint for guitar is that they don't have an extremely pleasing low end, but for overheads they're really good.
i"ve noticed this too. when i increase the volume of the mix, the relative levels change too. i've just learned to cmpensate for my own ineptitude by lowering the vocals in the mix. then when i throw the limiter on the master they pop out and end up in the right place.
i just went out and got reason. i've been playing around with it and found some cool strings and brass that sound pretty good to me. does anyone know of any drum kits on there that sound fairly realistic?
i spend most of my recording time experimenting with mic placement for acoustic guitar (mainly gibson J45 and Martin D18). i have two main set ups.
1) typical XY stereo with two NT5's about 2 feet in front of the sound hole.
2) an sm57 on the neck and an NTK on the bridge both within 6...
ok, for midi all i use is my controller (evolution MK 249c), an audigy card, reason and pro 53 software.
when i save the files as audio they're fine, when i save them as midi files the playback just sounds like a crappy piano. the beats and the synths are all lost. i have a friend who uses...
i've got an RNP, a DMP3, a UA 610 and a presonus pre, as well as the digi 001. i the ones on the digi sound fine. i like the stand alone units better (except for the presonus), but the two built in are ok. i got all the others so i can have more channels and inputs at one time, and more...
