I seem to remember the fuses being on a vertical panel nearest to you on the bottom left hand side as you view the 244 from the back upside down - the length of the machine down from the transformer. They are facing the plastic outer case. Sorry I can't take a pic to make things clearer but...

My late brother cut a few LPs in the early 70's using a Tandberg 3000x and Unidyne III and later in in stereo using two 3000xs and Unidynes and tranferring the backing track(s) from one recorder to the other together with the live recording. I've lately been remastering some of the recordings...

Hi Freddyk - glad you managed to fix it. I sent a comment on your previous thread about those jumpers and how you could feed signals to C3 and C4 here if you ever want to record all 4 tracks at once. It is a good idea to use some switch cleaner on the sockets now and again.

Just had a thought - if you do want to record all 4 tracks at once you may find you can feed the input to C3 and C4 via the direct channel inputs at the back after taking out the jumpers, using an external mixer to boost mic levels. It could even be that the C3 and C4 jumpers are missing or...
