on the other hand I just tried my tascam 38 with +4dB and it sounds fine, I just have to lower my levels on the mixing desk....

And I just tested my tascam 38 with a +4dB level going in, sounded fine to me. Just have to keep the gain low on the mixer.

ouch! I removed the wrong resistors! The mixer is now back in action at +4dB on 16 channels. I haven't touched the last 8 as these would be ideal for my 8 track -10dB machine. I'd love to have switches on the last 8 channels like you have (-10dB to +4dB). Does it matter which resistor is going...

Me again....I just tried to convert my soundcraft spirit studio's outs to +4dB from -10dB and now I get no output at all exept from the inserts where I have to plug the jack in half way. In the spirit manual it tells you to remove resistors R130 and R131, which I did and now...no bloody sound...

Will my tascam 38 -10db machine work with a +4db mixing desk? The tape send on my mixer is +4db. The tape return can be trimmed to suit -10db. So it is the tape send I am worried about... And THANKS for all the great respons I have had for al my other weird questions!
