After using a whole careful day on finding a way in to replacing a vu meter lamp on my Revox B77, I found that to pull out the plastic piece that the lamp plugs into out of the socket was almost impossible. I had to use some mini-pliers and I can see that the plastic lamp holders don't look good...

sounds like 2 cables with phono at one end and 1/4 inch mono at the other would do fine.

Well I solved the cable problem. Read in the manual that the aux outs are the same as the buss outs. So I just took 1/4 inch mono jack to jacks and fed them to the tape machine and bingo! Thanks for ALL the advice everyone.

I would stick with the noise. All noise reduction/equalisation alters the true sound of things. Listen to a lot of the White Stripes stuff, noise all over the place, but what a sound!

well I live in denmark and 1/2 inch 4 tracks and 1 inch 8 tracks are ridiculously scarce here. It would be very tempting except that I just got hold of an old Brenell mini 8 one inch 8 track for nearly no money. Thanks for the info though!
