It sounds like a digital pop to me. Maybe the EMU's AD converters. Try this. Unplug the USB cable from the EMU & Mac. Plug a 1/8" cable from the headphone jack of the EMU to your Mac's line input and record. See if you still get the pops/clicks.

I have 2 ES57's and I love them. You really can't beat them for the price. I also have an SM57 and an Audix i5. I did a comparison of the three quite some time ago................it's here on hr.com somewhere.

So I was reading Reaper's manual (yes...some people still read the manuals) and I learned that I can install Reaper on my USB stick and take it anywhere. Well that's just great. Something else to keep me from working at work...................:eek::D
