Does your laptop have a built in sound card? When i was having problems with my firepod, i added a hardware profile with everything i didnt NEED for recording, turned off. One of the big problems my computer seemed to have was when using my creative live soundcard and firepod at the same time...

As far as im aware yeah :) Ive only seen RP6's in white, they had RP5's in a red case. Ive seen RP6's which were black with a silver/grey speaker too. Not seen anything on the 8's tho im afraid. Cheers guys :)

For what it matters, its going to be used in a small room (~10.5 ft x 13 ft ), thats one of the reasons i've avoided mentioning any larger monitors.

Im going to get some 57s down the line, but im really looking at some wide diaphram condenser mics, ive used 57s before and the sound is ok for bass, but they lack in the low end, DI ing and blending helps, but id rather a condenser :) Cheers! Will look into it!
