it's definitely a mic to get for live usage. you could get very close to it in the studio via eq, etc. (although there are some very cool nuances to the mic's sound that you'd have a hard time trying to replicate with plugins or outboard gear, hence "close"). that said, it's a niche mic. if...

mark pirro, who designed the mic, also plays bass in the polyphonic spree. you can check out some of their stuff to hear it in action on vocals. tim, their singer, uses it live quite often. mark is a good guy and a whiz with mics. i believe his email address is on their webpage...
