I've got a pair of TNC ACMP84s that make no unwanted noises. I just don't use them anymore. They're in basically new condition and sound great. I'd prefer to sell these locally if possible. Anyone in the NY tristate area want some Pres/EQs?
my friend mark torre just launched a new blog that i think would be helpful to folks on this board.

if you like it, tell your friends!
did any of you get any sort of correspondence indicating that these would be shipped? i sent my info to chance a while ago but never got any type of reply or confirmation... is this what you guys experienced as well?
nope. i'm a little miffed about the lack of communication. sending an email out to a large list ain't rocket science... it's been almost two years since i payed for those effing shockmounts... wait no... almost three years! last GB was '06, right?
patience and love.... patience and...
poo, i'll have to find the mic one as well.... i think i've decided to make this a diy 1073 project. may take me a long time, but i'll be so proud of myself at the end of it. i also just randomly received a yellow pages lookalike from mouser (never ordered from them before...) so i think this...
i have got no data sheet. this is all i have. might i be better off just trying to make a DIY 1073 rather than trying to upgrade the acmp? and yeah i don't care about the LEDs, i care about functionality.
i'm not sure if i'm up to making a 1073 from scratch... you know what? eff that, i'm...
hey there everyone. I searched and came up empty so that is why i am posting a new thread.
I have an original st. ives vt22671 (l31267) that i'd like to swap into my acmp73. i've never attempted anything like this before. has anyone done this and if so, can anyone walk me through it? i'm...
akg d112 is definitely the most "modern" sounding IMHO. i've gotten great results from the d6 as well though. definitely would recommend the d112 if you want that click/attack.
is this acm3 from the current group buy or the previous one? the pic angles aren't the best for seeing sag, but they look okay to me based on the pics. the corrugations in the ribbon are supposed to be there. you can tell if you have ribbon sag if the corrugated ribbon isn't taught between...

All the guitars on this recording are my little Doug Eaton acoustic > ACM 583 > ACMP 84 w/ some subtle EQ tweaks on the way in > MOTU 828 mkII > MOTU Digital Performer > AIFF 24bit 44.1k.
I approve of the cost:usefulness ratio...
yeah marik did the same for me and in his words, he "tweaked" the psu. for me that means something that would be relatively easy and not too time consuming....
i had an opportunity to use a friend's acmp73 and 84s on kick and snare last saturday (acm 3 on kick two feet back, angled down at bottom of drum > acmp73, audix d6 inside kick > acmp84, sm57 top snare > acmp84) and they really brought that big fat sound that i've been looking for in kick and...
