    M-Audio Tampa question.

Chances are there will be a difference in sound (unless they happen to use the same kind or type of convertors or something)... do a test and listen for yourself!

    Thoughts on digital mixers

look into the panasonic ramsa da7. everything ive heard has been that its just simply a better sounding board than the dm24 and the yammies. i dont have first hand experience in this but i will know what thte day sounds like in about a week as i just bought one off ebay for about $1000 fully...

Which are high-end professional monitors ?

hey madaudio did you use just the wharfedales at first or did you start off using the sub? reason i ask is how much difference the sub makes for your mixes? i have the wharfedales and theyve made a big difference for my mixes but ive found the low end is still very "iffy". thanks!

The mic I used at a real studio

Pro Tools IS overrated by some and probably underrated by others. However, I find that most people vastly overrate Pro Tools, at least those that I come into contact with. Then again, those people are mostly musicians and guitarists that somehow think Pro Tools is God and that you're a...

SD condenser pair suggestions? $800 or below....

check out the audix scx-one mics... very under-rated imo. i love my pair that i use for drum overheads and acoustic guitar. They have been likened to the josephson c-42s by some on this board.

    question about timeclock

www.lucidaudio.com lucid makes pretty good clocks... the GenX6 is one of them. i happened upon the lucid SSG192 master studio clock generator but as of yet have not been able to try it out... itll come in handy to sync multiple digital devices together as well as to help keep audio in sync...

    preamp with digital out.

the tampa has gotten some good feedback on here as being a good preamp for the money... however, keep in mind that it is a single channel unit and i believe would only allow you to have a total of 9 inputs with your unit.

    line attenuators

i have a pair of the shure attenuators and while i have not really tested with them on and with them off, they did not seem to affect the sound... and for me i didnt have much choice because when using my audix scx-ones as drum overheads with a loud drummer, even with the gain on my q10 all the...

Marshall revives the V77s Tube Mic in a newly designed body...

how would you compare this mic with say... a shure ksm27/32/44 or rode k2 or even at4040/4050/4060? ive been on the lookout for a microphone whose main purpose would be for vocals... is this mic even in that same league? (i wouldnt mind saving a few bucks haha) thanks

    Next step for "studio"

instead of getting acoustic foam, make yourself some broadband sound absorbers using compressed insulation... this way, not only will these absorb the troublesome mids and highs but will continue to help (a little) in the lower frequencies.... from what ive heard, the lower frequencies are most...
