Very tight mix. In addition to the lip smacking, the thing I noticed is the P's and T's and a couple of K sounds really jump out a bit. Overall, enjoyed it very much. Quite creative.

If you want the vocal to blend better in the mix I'd suggest you send it to a buss with either a slap delay, say 1/16th note, or ping pong with a 1/32nd and a 1/16th note delay, and inch it back until you can't really hear it but notice the difference when it's gone. Also send that delay track...

Sounds really good so far. The only thing that caught my ear was the violin that comes in around 2:11. There's something off about the vibrato that tips you off that it's not real. Don't know if that's adjustable or not. The tone is very good. I love the chorus, love the background vocals...

Thanks man. Thanks for the comments. Yes the shaker was recorded once, then the track duplicated and the second half pasted under the first half and visa versa. Gives it a nice stereo effect that I was pleased with.

That was the only mic we had for an entire first album. It's actually a pretty good mic for what was under $100 back then. You can make some good recordings with that mic.
