    Hey moskus...

Hey boys, thought I'd join this thread since "DAW Users" is getting dissed lately.... BTW, any help on this for a fellow Sonar user would be welcome.... https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?threadid=90677 I'll probably download the Sonar 2.2 upgrade to use ASIO drivers. Do I need to...

Two Delta 1010's in one PC....

What do I need to do? One is currently loaded and working fine. I want to add the second one. Do I need to reload drivers, or will my multitrack software (Sonar) and WinXP see the second card? Will the Delta mixer pick it up? Do I need a BNC cable for word clock? Is there a way to synch via...

    Here's my second stab...

Well, here's where I am now. I added a garage door that opens to the air lock. And the double doors have been replaced by a single. Staircase is in the same spot and studio is unchanged. Roof comes down in the front mostly for symmetry and aesthetics, but also storage.

    Here's my second stab...

Michael, I'd like to discuss this further. I think I still have your email, or can PM.

    Here's my second stab...

Well John, no real problems. Unfortunately, I won't be able to install plumbing, so a toilet is out. Not a huge setback since I'm planning on locating the building as close to the house as I can. I'm hoping to avoid jackposts by running a steel I-beam as the main carrying stick. I'm pretty...

    Here's my second stab...

After getting some feedback and realizing that a freestanding structure might be a better answer than finishing a garage that may not be up to rennovations, this is what I come with on the first pass. What I'd like to do is have a garage built where I could put storage upstairs and a studio...

    Here's my first stab...

I'm also concerned about ceiling height. Between HVAC and the center carrying beam, I think I can get in a drop ceiling no higher than 6'9" or so.

    Here's my first stab...

Michael, I know you could land a chopper in your control room.:p I actually overlaid yours over a sketch I did a while back based on the room I'm now using. Yours dwarfed it. The circles are indeed columns. I'll just have to live with them. You're probably right about the storage area. I'm...

    Here's my first stab...

Here's my plan for moving my studio from my attic to my garage. Basically, I took a few ideas from the SAE link but I don't know a lot about acoustic treatments, recommended ceiling heights, room sizes, etc. Comments on the layout are welcome. Once I get a footprint, I can work out the other...

My latest Beatles tribute - ANNA!

Yeah, real nice. A buddy of mine has a Jackson. They're the most shredder-looking guitars (especially the ones Randy played - polka dots?), but they seem to be incredibly versatile tone-wise. I really liked the mix. Everything in the right place and well balanced. Good job. Dachay, Michael...

    Delta 1010 installation problems

I'm not sure I agree with that. If you're counting input and output, I most definitely have run in excess of 10 channels under Win2k (that was the original claim, Mike). I recorded a band with all 10 inputs at 24-bit, including spdif. Outputs 1,2 to mixer and outputs 3,4 to my patchbay for aux...

    Delta 1010 installation problems

Actually, I'm waiting on the computer host cable and power supply I ordered from M-Audio last week.. Mike, I think you're right about my garbled audio being CPU related as I was trying to play back .bun files. I think I'll dump the audio to the HD and see what happens.

Control Surface support for Sonar...Is the Tascam US-428 the best value?

Re: Mackie prayers answered? What is it about that article that would make you not like the Mackie Control? The only thing I don't like about it is the price. But it looks like the ideal control surface for Sonar. I wanted to "try one out " at Guitar Center, but "it's not hooked up." So I...

    Delta 1010 installation problems

Guy, if you want to send it to me, I can figure it out in five minutes. I know it's a hassle and the clock is ticking, but I'd be willing to do that.

    Delta 1010 installation problems

Again, I agree with Mike (although we become enemies again at 1 PM as Clemens goes for his 300th win against the FIRST PLACE Red Sox). And although this thread is not about me, anybody know why I should get garbled playback in Sonar (it's like the sound is under water) while any .wavs and...

    Delta 1010 installation problems

Mike's covered anything I could think of. Are you getting power to the breakout box? The light should come on. Maybe it's as simple as a bad power supply. That's all I can come up with right now. Also, does the midi I/O work? James, there's only one way that cable can go. One end is 25-pin...

I'll Have a Tom Collins, please....

I mean, I want to get the toms to sound like Phil Collins'. Is gated reverb the solution? I've been playing with FX on toms lately. I've been using gates, reverb (not gated reverb, tho), EQ, (Cutting mids and boosing 1-2k, as well as 100hz). Also a touch of multiband compression, but I don't...

    Me, Myself and Irene

Pedullist, that was the condition under which I agreed to collaborate. Even if I had to sing it (and NOBODY wants that). Let's not tell Waldo that's a cover, thank you.;) Lt. Bob, I salute you. What great tone, man. Emeric, Chicago song coming with instruments by my boys and me (including...
