I plug my headphones into the headphone jack of the presonus.

When I used the Presonus with the Presonus ASIO drivers, the delay is about three seconds after I press the key. When using my Windows drivers, the delay is about half a second. When using ASIO4ALL, there is none. The Reaper User Guide recommend ASIO4ALL as a fix for the latency issue.

Here's what I use for Guitar/Voice recording: two AKG Perception 120 microphones. They work great for me. Be careful that they don't cancel each other out, though. SM57's will work on a budget, but like Gecko said, you probably want something with a little more detail. And The 120's you can get...

So, I've been looking around for some VSTs that just sound like a regular grand piano. Uh, no luck. And I've been looking for almost an hour. Isn't there just a plugin that you can get a myriad of preset piano sounds from, instead of all the junky fake string synths I keep finding? Please! HELP...

Nevermind. I got it. I needed different sound drivers. For anyone experiencing the same problem I downloaded the ASIO4ALL drivers.

Ok. Thanks. I think that must be my problem. I've never often been in a situation where I felt like a complete and total noob. But this has been one of them. MIDI is a totally different world from recording actual sound, it seems. :)

Monitoring is on and the track is armed. I am using the Q49 as the instrument. There is no input MIDI port on the Q49, just an output and USB. I will take at look at step 1, though. I have not done that yet.

The first one is better. On the edge of the world is more like a risk, a challange, the possibility to lose something, or win something. On TOP of the world sounds like life is perfect. I personally like to risky sounding one better. ;)

I'm think my voice is decent, though I wish I had a wider range. If I stretch, I can reach three whole octaves, but It starts to hurt on the high end. :) But I think I sing halfway decent.
