Only if a neanderthal with a club and a hollow log can smoke a brilliant genius with an entire orchestra and then some at his back. ;)
After listening to this song, I understand their name. I would be mortified if I sounded like that too. jk.
Phil, you remind me of a buddy of mine. He thinks...
Haha. I guess if you aren't a Christian than lyrics lifted straight from the pages of the Old Testament prophets aren't necessarily gonna connect with u. ;) I just figured it was only fair to share my favorite since I hadn't been that graceful when you'd shared yours. As far as instrumentation...
It's a cruel world out there for us self made artists. I've heard it said that personal contact is the best. Mouth to mouth, hand to hand. Do live shows, (many coffee shops will allow live bands to play). And then give away/charge very little for those few songs you already have out. An internet...
Since I so callously brushed of FoulPhil's "Best song of all time" I thought I should share the one that I consider to be the best of all time to give him the same opportunity. :D
Not sure what an impulse file is. Though if I remember correctly 2:15 is the bridge, where I added a gazillion amount of reverb? For that affect I used the ReaVerbate plugin, and set it at a custom setting that I labeled "Cavern" ;) Not sure if it was what I wanted. I wanted something that...
I'm the drummer. Lol. And the vocalist. And everything in between. :) It's been a while for me since I've last played the drums, and I did make it too busy. Thanks for the thoughts.
All three of those groups are Christian Rock/Alternative Metal. I suppose I should have mentioned above that all my lyrics are based on the Bible.
The two songs were pretty good. Not exactly my style, but there's nothin wrong with that. What instruments do u play? I do drums, acoustic guitar...
As do I. My favorite rock groups are Skillet, Fireflight, and Flyleaf. But since I'm not so great at electric guitar, I'm not able to produce that real hard rock sound. U can find one of my songs in the MP3 Mixing Clinic. The thread titled "Murder My Baby"
This is exactly the kinda feedback I'm looking for. I will probably add a new drum track, and anew vocal. I recorded the vocals before I did the drums, so it wasnt the drums holding me back. I think I was trying to hard. The drum sound I'm happy with. The performance needs some work. The reverb...
Thanks for the tip on the guitar. The drum kit is real. It's a Tama Rockstar. I have alota trouble with my snare. I really just need a new one, but don't have the budget. Do the lyrics actually sound crammed, or were they just surprising to you?
Thanks for the feedback!
Please cut this to pieces. But only if it needs it. I am so tired of trying to critique myself. :drunk:https://soundcloud.com/resurrectrock/up-in-flame-1
Actually, if you use two mics, one on your voice, and one on your guitar, you can do some editing to both tracks. Nothing fancy, mind you, but I have used some of these tracks in my finished products. And (at least to me) they sound great. I usually just add some reverb to the voice and guitar...
I know a guy down the road from me that runs a small professional sound studio. He says that when doing drum tracks to just record your drumset, and then plug in sample sounds where your kit's sounds are. NO! JUST NO! If you can't get a good sound from your own kit, get a better kit. lol...
Ok. Maybe there is a forum on here for this already, but if there is, I can't find it. I'm looking for someone to collaborate on some projects with me. Mostly looking for someone who can arrange and record and synth/keys part for my songs. And no, I don't want to pay you. Unless it's a certain...
