The numbers are for measures i.e. 1 square in the playlist editor.
Anywhere i put the automation patter in the playlist, that tempo changes will occur.
Note The automation is 2 bars in duration and is played twice in the event editor, I st a 2 bar automation and repeated it.
You cannot change the tempo for only one pattern, why would you want to? It would be out of time with the rest of the song?
The example I have posted is how to change the tempo for the song and change it back again but there is no way you can have different tempo values for different patterns...
I've attached a zipped loop package where I've just cot a 3xOSC playing the c major scale alternating between 100 and 140 bpm.
In pattern 2 right click on the tempo and click event editor to see how it's done. Just make sure that when you enter the events next to the play button the "pat" is...
I think I might go ahead with it.
The only preamps I've got to campare it with is my Behringer MIC200 with 12ax7-EH valve upgrade and a crap Behringer mixer so it has to be a step in up from there.
I can get a JLM Baby Animal preamp kit with everything I need except XLR plug holes and case for $458 shipped.
Here's a list of the parts it comes with:
2 x JLM Baby Animal PCB & kit with all needed PCB parts and OPA2604 Opamp and JLM14 input transformer.
1 x 48v 380mA 18W SMPS 90v to 250v...
I don't know much about intel motherboards at the moment either, but as long as you stick with the reliable brands like asus, gigabyte or dfi you'll be sweet.
Use the event editor.
in a separate (empty) pattern (make sure 'pat' is selected next to the play button)
right click on where you change the tempo and click 'edit events'
Use your mouse to draw how the tempo will change. While hovering your mouse in the event editor window if you look under...
Find out what motherboard you have, there should be a model number written on it somewhere, and look it up to see what CPUs are compatible.
With some luck there might be a BIOS upgrade to support newer CPUs like the sempron.
You should at the very least be able to upgrade to any athlon CPU...
Didn't think of that, what an idiot!
The Micro1290 works out to be $1300AUD. Thats the price of their 99v 2 ch premp as well.
To build a 2 channel baby animal preamp it would cost around $450ish which is almost in my budget
A JLM babyanimal mic pre that comes in a kit rangfes from AU$105 to $185
depending on what opamp and input transfomrer I get with it.
JLM Baby Animal PCB & kit with all needed PCB parts and OPA2604 Opamp and JLM14 input transformer $105AUD + GST (roughly $75USD) Parts List
JLM Baby Animal PCB...
In my country in makes none. I've only once ever seen a RNC on eBay.com.au
I don't want to get one from the us and use a voltage converter. Too much humm. Nothing from Symetrix either.
Don't forget I'm in Australia where it's not that easy to find used gear.
VTB-1 and RNC are both over $400 in Australia and are only one channel.
To start me off I wanted stereo, I'll be using it for drums, vocals, guitar and horns.
The only way I could really afford a RNC would be if I got the behringer mic2200 or another Mic200 which I don't rate that highly.
In...
Still can't decide what to get!
I am limited to a maximum of AU$600.
Should I get a more expensive pre like:
m-audio dmp3 for $340
ART TPS II for $400
Presonus BlueTube DP $349
and a cheaper compressor like:
behringer MDX2600 for $200
DBX 266XL $250
Or should I get an slightly more expensive...
It really depends on how much you want to spend.
You'll want AT LEAST 1GB Ram, I'd recommend 2GB for a DAW.
If Intel is the road you want to take just get whatever 775 CPU you can afford, as long as its dual core. The pentium D 805 isn't a bad budget dual core CPU.
Hard disk wise, if you can...
