You would probably want to go with the GT8 . Basically the same unit but alot cheaper.
Here's a sample of a drum track with only the guitar tracks. Just 2 guitar takes and I panned them left and right. You can hear how full the end result is. I think this is what you are trying to achieve. I would recommend doing 2 separate takes so they don't sound exactly alike...
Bottom line is this. If you want something with lots of options and don't mind spending lots of time tweaking get the GT8. If you would rather not spend lots of time tweaking get the GNX3000. GNX3000 also has better editing software and usb connection. GT8 works better if you're going to use...
Never used Samplitube, but Guitar Rig doesn't sound good to me at all. The overdrive/distortions sound terrible. There's a plugin called Warp VST that I use that sounds much better for OD/distortion than Guitar Rig.
