I personally would just keep the 2x4 panels in-tact,cover them and stradle them across the corners. You could then go floor almost to ceiling with 2 panels stacked on top of each other (8ft high). You would use 8 panels for the 4 corners and then you could hang the other 4 panels on the walls...

There's probably 10,000 different directions you can go. I suggest you start reading, learning and start out buying one thing at a time and buy things you will keep for awhile and you can add onto to build your hobby.

I use 4 channels of Re-built Yamaha PM-1000 for my drums. Best pres I have tried for drums yet. Just kick, snare, and 2 overheads and it sounds great!

It's really a no-brainer if you ask me. If you want reliability, stability, and great converters go with RME. As far as the pres go , I'd say they are both comparable mid class pres. RME is just a rock solid system and that would be my choice. I'm sure there's plenty of happy Onyx users out...
