Budget Sound Proof Booths for home studio

Thanks, I understand there is a difference between sound-proof and acoustic treatment. Just thought I would ask as I am uncertain of the location I will eventually be in. A duplex on Oahu there's a road that runs by the house and I am considering the noise of big rigs and harleys. Otherwise...

Budget Sound Proof Booths for home studio

I've have suffered from hearing loss a long time - all my life. Along the way I've had the occasional experience of being placed in a sound proof booth for my hearing tests. I was curious if such a booth would be helpful for recording vocals and instruments. I've been imagining something that...

    Rules of thumb for EQing?

Just wanted to say thanks glen for making that chart, (in case you read this). I have a serious hearing loss and for me, it helped explain a few things I didn't understand before. industry standard mics?

Well if I had to choose, I'd go Unimog, the Lupo is quite limited. Both can get you from point a to point b but the Unimog can get you there if the route called for a 4WD.

    industry standard mics?

Just what IS the "industry standard"? The top 10 most common microphone choices? After reading Harvey Gerst's discussion on mics, and reflecting on many other sites I've seen, it seems to me that there is at least a "top ten microphones" Shure SM57 Shure SM58 Shure SM7 Electrovoice RE-20...

    hearing

Hearing Loss I just finished reading Dr. Bootleg's response. His situation is certainly different from mine. Likely scenerio: The place one would go is to an audiologist whom you would be referred to by your primary care doctor or an Ear Nose Throat (ENT) specialist. You are placed in a sound...
