    Stellar cm-5 & cm-6

I happen to have on my desk at this very instant a mic that is of Chinese origin (I bought it from a distributor friend in Hong Kong) which I consider to be a very good and usable microphone. It retails for about $350 and I got it for $150 to test with the idea I would mod it to make something...

    Stellar cm-5 & cm-6

That was in reference to spamming, numbnuts, with a pretty clear conclusion that the OP probably isn't Chinese, or if he is he's trying to promote wares. Once again, thank for reading into it something that wasn't there.;) How's that 'no leg to stand on' thing working for ya?

    Stellar cm-5 & cm-6

Jim, it gets really annoying to have nitwits like you around with knee jerk reactions. "My guitar was made in Mexico with inferior parts and craftsmanship"..."Well, then its pretty obvious you hate Mexicans!!" And $100 says you can't even see the clear flaws in the above statements..and...

    Stellar cm-5 & cm-6

No, you have an agenda. Pure and simple. You can't think rationally and so to compensate you retaliate without an ounce of reason. We're talking about Chinese microphones, not the Chinese people. The record for Chinese mics speaks for itself. If you cannot see that you are biased beyond any hope...

    Stellar cm-5 & cm-6

That statement has no validity and is nothing more than disparaging BS. The reason for knocking Chinese products is that for the most part they are inferior as a point of fact. The components are reverse engineered and don't follow close tolerances enough to be considered quality. They use a...

    Stellar cm-5 & cm-6

If you buy the modded versions and ONLY if. I bought one from him and it was completely stock. I did all the mods myself, so I know for a fact everything was stock and it said "Stellar" right on the front. They didn't start selling modded versions until they ran out of stock. You'll notice the...

Yes. I too hope to die someday.:D

    Tube Microphones

The main reason for not unplugging a tube mic right after powering it off allows the capacitors in the power supply to fully discharge. There are some large values in there, especially on the filament side, that hold their charge for quite a while. If you were to plug a mic back in without those...

Do shock mounts improve low end response from a microphone?

Cool, dude! I marched a DCI top twelve corps back in the 80's (Sky Ryders) and my daughter marched in Pacific Crest. Cool to know some guys around involved with it still.

    NEUMANN mic choice

I have to agree with John with the quality and not "the badge" as far as hardware (e.i. capsule testing and rejection), up until the TLM 103 and 102 series. Those use surface mount components and are at the low end for Neumann, even with Sennheiser being the current owner. The capsules are not...

Do shock mounts improve low end response from a microphone?

Well, I for one am impressed with the ingenuity! Who cares how it looks! I care how it sounds!! Being as marching season is over for most schools, I can only presume that's a recording of a drum corps drumline. DCI affiliated?

    Question About Small Tuchel Adapter

OK, would that be like why most Brits say the T in "Tuesday" as "Chewsday". :D I guess that would be like the H in huge?;)

    Question About Small Tuchel Adapter

Sorry, I learned how to pronounce it from the mic tech at Stephen Paul Audio, and he did pronounce it that way, as well as do I, but I didn't feel the need to put that much into the pronunciation, seeing how a lot of Americans don't use the word Loch very often. We pronounce it Lake. But thanks...

    Behringer B5 Problem

Meh! I just realized that's a photo from the take apart website. Hard to tell without see your actual mic. If it were me, I'd start with the coupling cap at the capsule end and replace them working my way to the back. I'd use better quality parts and probably end up with a decent mic.

    Behringer B5 Problem

The fact that its a recurring pop leads me to believe its a capacitor or a capacitive effect like a near short. Sounds like something charging and the immediately discharging in or near the signal path. The third electrolytic capacitor from the left looks like the top has bulged, but that could...

    Need some expert advice...

The sounds it creates while recording rap might be too emotional for some, like the breathy aura that's created while recording "ho" or "bitch"! I've nearly wet myself with hearing how warm it sounds on phrases like "Imo be" and some other phonetic somethings or other! Not to mention the ground...

    Need some expert advice...

Yup! The V67G will record all things rap. It is the rappinest rap mic around! All rap sounds good through it! Other music, not so much. Rock vocals tank on it, especially female rock vocals, and male plus instruments. Country vocals sound horrible, both male and female, plus all the...
