I've been using SoundID with Goodhertz Can Opener for about 4 or so months with Sennheiser HD600's. This combo and some other factors I think got me to improved mixes. I think I'm probably still a ways from highly accurate stuff in the low end like kick and bass guitar etc...and still a long way...

I've been recording a bass amp lately rather than DI and I'm taking off 9db @ 200hz on my LA 610 mkii going in. If I don't, the recording is way, way...way too overpowering in the low end.

Thanks. Yes it's a tad hard to hear and the idea of mastering limiting or compression isn't something I really have down. Using your ears might be as good as anything I suppose. I know I've done stuff that's sounded way overcooked after mastering.
