did you go to check disc. on my unit, I hardly ever have the cdr powered on, and when I'm ready to use it, I just turn it on, and go to disc, and then check, always works for me.

I use a stand-a-lone cd recorder for mixdown, so if I need a to put something in my 788 from a cd, I just reverse the process. works fine. I normally do this as stereo tracks.

I've heard that red label yammies are better than the black label. anyone know if this true. this may have been in older used models.
