I recently put my modded 319 against my unmoded 319 on accoustic guitar and I was extremely disapointed in the modded one....I have had the mics for several years, and have never put them against each other....the unmoded mic was very open and had a nice top end....the moded mic was...
it really all comes with experiance....there is no set rules on this kind of thing....recently, I recorded 2 different artists who were singer/song writers and recorded their vocals and accustic guitar at the same time....I used a similar mic setup on both, and I recorded 4 tracks for each...
that is wrong....I have 40+ mics in my studio....probably 12 to 15 condensors, 4 ribbons, and the rest are dynamic. dont think for a second that a dynamic mic has no use in a studio, or that they are all cheap. most high gain guitars are recorded with dynamic... most drums are close mic'd with...
there is no common way...I have artists who are comfortable doing the seperate and I have some who do them together....with proper mic choice and placement, you can get great tracks doing them together.....think about dynamic mics...they will pick up less off axis and unwanted noise. maybe...
ahh...dont like pedals huh....
also...just wondering...most people I know who want high gain dont look for guitars with single coil pickups.....whats up with that?
I might be interrested...but I need more details on the guitar...I have a late '70s fender bandmaster with 2 x 12 cab....all tube and cab has celestion green backs.
I didnt know your homemade panels were for sale....I know I only have a couple of days to get the others before you move....just have to see what I can do...
hey man....the wifey went into labor a week early and looks like I wont make it this weekend....I do want them and Ill try my best to drive up by 23rd....
If I can get out of working next saturday...then Ill come up either on friday night, or on saturday morning.....when I go to work tomorrow, Ill go ahead and request sat. off....Ill let you know what happens.....
cant see the pix....dude...I want these....I just dont know how soon I can pick them up....im working 10 to 12 hr days and lately working saturdays too....It may take me a couple of weeks to be able to plan for the time to get them so if you still have them at that time, Ill drive up....
well...My first picture was my original plan....and at this point, it still is the plan....Im just having the building dried in....walls and roof....and Im going to work on the insides as I can.....Im sure there are plenty of ways to set up the inside with the bathroom set where it is.....what...
the pad is poured now and im considering several other sets of floor plans....the bathroom will have to stay put since the plumming is all in but everything else is fair game...between the 2....what ya'll thinkin???
I think I may have a pair of MXL 603's around...Ill look and post back...also, I think you are on the right track with the 609 on snare....I bought mine as a guitar cab mic, but I found it to be the best snare mic Iv used...
thanks man....If everything goes according to plan today, Ill get a few pix...the walls should start going up next week....that should take 3 to 4 days...then the roof another week, and ill be all dried in by mid june....
