You want to use the compressor on the channel inserts, not the aux sends.

Same price at zzounds - Delta Omni for $219. I have it and like it a lot. The Omni mixer is pretty handy, and the pres sound good. The soundcard sounds good as well. I bought mine used for $250 a few weeks before the price-drop. :(

Yeah, that's what I have, except that it is integrated into this. The mic pres are good, and with ample compression, I get great bass tones.
