Modellers are fizzy. You could try turning down the gain. I 2nd the tube comment. Modellers are fine for practice - I practice with one at night while my wife is sleeping sometimes, and even make scratch/demo recordings with it because it is quick. But for anything serious, I fire up the Boogie.

I have a 286a that I got a good deal on a few years ago. All the vocals in this song were done with it. It's nothing special, but it gets the job done in my small spare-bedroom studio. The compressor is weird... rather than setting the threshold and ratio like a normal compressor, you turn up...

The lead guitar tone really gives me the shivers, like nails on a chalkboard. I agree the vocals need some verb. Overall it sounds pretty good, but I would not send it to the master just yet.
